Built around what you want to play

Every student gets the same foundations: sound technique, fluent reading, and an understanding of how music is put together. What we play on top of that is up to you.

Adults

Starting out, or coming back

Adults learn differently from children. You can understand why a technique works, you know which music moves you, and your time is limited. Lessons reflect this.

  • Complete beginners welcome, including those who cannot yet read music
  • Returning players rebuilding technique after a long break
  • Repertoire chosen with you, from Bach to Rachmaninoff
  • Practice plans that fit around work and family

Children

A careful first teacher

The first teacher shapes how a child hears, reads, and moves at the keyboard. Lessons are patient, structured and encouraging, with clear goals parents can follow.

  • Note reading, rhythm and healthy hand position from the first lesson

About

Andrew Lindner

I have studied classical piano for sixteen years, and I now teach from my home studio in Oatley.

The Romantic era has been my particular love for a decade, and the past five years of my study have centred on the Russian Romantics, Rachmaninoff and Scriabin above all. This era of music requires the utmost appreciation for colour, complexity, and musicality. True expression must communicate the character and essence of a piece, and it is this love and emotional connection that I aim to give every student, whatever they play.

I completed the AMEB practical grades from Preliminary to Grade 8 with consistently high results, alongside theory to Grade 3, and achieved the top band in both HSC Music 2 and Music Extension.
